7 CES Ads That Make You Go 'Hmmm'

Microsoft's Windows Home Server group is in full court press mode this week, and ads like this one blanketed large portions of the CES exhibit halls. Microsoft faces a tough challenge in trying to create the idea that having a server in the house, as opposed to just the data center, is an acceptable thing in this day and age.

This slogan sounds like something from the Summer Of Love. What would happen to the world if everyone were to 'feel' instead of 'think?' Most likely, this attitude would lead to many people having cell phones accidentally embedded in their hands, that's what.

OK, we realize that listening to music on an iPod or other portable music device can be a liberating experience. But come on, this looks like the scene from a"When Harry Met Sally," where Meg Ryan tries to prove a point to Billy Crystal. No music can -- or frankly, should -- inspire this type of reaction.

Gee, I don't know, you tell me -- do these giant hands offer sufficient protection for this tiny car? For that matter, are human hands even a viable form of protection, be it from theft or damage, from any vehicle? Lots of unanswered questions with this one.

MyVu's ads promoting its portable media player went a little overboard, one might say. Talk about hubris!

This one really had conference attendees scratching their heads. Although, the concept of a celebrity fender bender is kind of entertaining, isn't it?

Ah yes, an old guy clinging to the past, obviously unaware that the role of a server in a domestic environment could be more than just that of a maternal caretaker figure. This guy does look like a pretty open-minded gent, though.
