Dell and CommVault have a new partnership that includes CommVault's Simpana 9 software shipping on Dell's PowerVault DL2300 appliances to deliver integrated, scalable and simplified data protection for medium-sized to large, distributed organizations, according to both companies.

The PowerVault DL2300 is the fourth generation of Dell's PowerVault disk-based data protection appliances, and the combination of Dell PowerEdge 12th generation servers with Simpana data protection software can offer integrated data backup, recovery, replication, archiving, deduplication, search and analytics for both physical and virtual servers, according to CommVault.

Having Simpana 9 software pre-configured and pre-tested on the PowerVault DL2300 allows enterprises to transition from setup to scale-out data protection in less than an hour, according to CommVault.
