 The Week Ending March 6

Topping this week's roundup of those having a rough week are hundreds of Oracle employees, especially in Europe, that are facing layoffs as part of a corporate restructuring.

Also making this week’s list are a number of companies, including Google Cloud, Nvidia and Red Hat, who are canceling upcoming shows and conferences because of the growing coronavirus epidemic. Apple made the list for having to pay up to $500 million to settle a class-action lawsuit around its iPhone “throttling” practice, while wireless device maker Netgear scrambled to fix security bugs in some of its most popular routers. And Intel faced reports of an “unfixable” security flaw in practically all of its processors.

Not everyone in the IT industry was having a rough go of it this week. For a rundown of companies that made smart decisions, executed savvy strategic moves – or just had good luck – check out this week's Five Companies That Came To Win roundup.
