Supply Chain

Manak Ahulwalia, President and CEO, Waltham, Mass.-based Aqueduct Technologies

Supply chain is going to continue to be one because it has a ripple effect in revenue as well as services delivery. So we’re trying to continue to work with multiple distributors and as we can pivot more customers to some cloud-based services become less dependent on some of the supply chain issues. And then I think the other one is just going to be the ability to continue to bring on personnel to keep up with our growth.

I think we’re starting to see the effects now with revenue that typically would have been within 2021 pushing out to 2022 Because we’ve had such an overabundance of work, it hasn’t really impacted us from a profitability perspective. But obviously when our timeframes for service delivery start stretching out six to nine months before they can start, we assumed that it would probably have some peaks and valleys and introduces risk.

For us, it’s more of just trying to time the revenue and the service delivery to our hiring so that we don’t end up overstaffed because we can’t deliver some of the product to our customers. I think in other cases where we can move customers from a product line to more available product line, we’ve been doing that. In and other cases where the timeframe for them needing to get these services up and running is prohibited by supply chain issues, we’ve been trying to pivot them to more of a service provider, as a service or cloud-based software.
