Shane Snider

CRN examines companies with stockpiles of spending power and looks at potential purchases and strategies after two years of blockbuster tech growth.

It’s no secret the last two years have been booming for the tech sector. And with all that cash pumping in at a record pace, it could mean companies have the means to go on acquisition sprees. From Intel and Apple to Microsoft and Amazon, we’ve already seen that cash deployed for some major acquisitions and research and development efforts.

According to financial data company FactSet, the 10 public tech companies with the most liquid assets have a combined $575 billion in cash and short-term investments. That’s just about equivalent to the gross domestic product (GDP) of Argentina, a country with a population of roughly 43 million.

CRN examines the top 10 public tech companies with the most cash and short-term investments to throw at future projects, including Google parent Alphabet Inc., Microsoft Corp., Amazon, Apple, Facebook parent Meta Platforms Inc., Intel, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco Systems, and Qualcomm. All data is courtesy of FactSet.
