Solution Provider Stocks Take A Hit In Q1 2020

With the economy riding high, stock markets made historic gains early in the first quarter of 2020. But as the COVID-19 pandemic took hold and the economy stalled, markets went into a freefall in March before recovering somewhat at the very end of the month.

The Dow Jones Industrials closed March 31, 2020, at 21,917.16, down 23.2 percent, marking the worst quarter ever for that index. The tech-heavy Nasdaq fell 14.18 percent during the quarter to close at 7,700.10.

So how did publicly held solution provider companies and distributors fare? Of the 25 companies on our watch list only three recorded stock price increases between Dec. 31, 2019, and March 31, 2020, with 22 recording stock price declines—most by double-digit amounts.

Here's a look at how some of the biggest publicly traded solution provider companies fared in the first calendar quarter of 2020, starting with companies with the biggest gains in share price, based on stock closinComputeg prices on Dec. 31, 2019, and March 31, 2020.

We also take a look at how each companies market cap value changed during the March quarter. Also included is recent financial data from each company—many companies reported 2019 financial results during the quarter—and other relevant news.
