Cambridge, Mass.-based, which provides operations and intelligence software for next-generation precision diagnostic labs, has received $5 million in Series A funding. plans to use the funding to grow its cloud-based laboratory information systems for clinical informatics, accelerating lab deployment and expanding features to enable independent labs to grow their business efficiently and maximize business value from their data. Its commercial platform, an out-of-the-box solution built for molecular diagnostics, was developed to make it easier to bring innovative tests to patients. It scales to accommodate labs’ needs for sample tracking, client relations, electronic health record integrations, revenue cycle management, reporting, operational intelligence and results analytics.

Madrona Venture Group led the funding round, with participation from Borealis Ventures, Nat Turner, Zach Weinberg, StagedotO and David Shaw.

“Genomics and molecular testing labs have complex workflows that require new functionality that can only come from a modern (software-as-a-service) and cloud-based solution,” managing director, Madrona Venture Group managing director S. Somasegar said in a statement. “At the same time, these labs have clinical and genomic data that is being under-utilized to provide improved patient outcomes. ( has) built an easy-to-use and rapidly deployable system for one of the most vibrant areas of precision medicine diagnostics.”
