Wasabi

Wasabi, led by David Friend, Carbonite's former CEO and co-founder, is on a mission to disrupt cloud storage. The company is doing just that by employing steep price cuts that enterprises can take advantage of to better handle their data.

Wasabi has completely eliminated egress fees to make cloud storage an option for any size enterprise, and it wants to remove vendor lock-in for both storage and compute cloud services to accelerate cloud migration. The cloud storage startup closed a $68 million Series B funding round in September, which Friend said the company will use to take on AWS.
