12 New Products You've Got To Check Out At Dreamforce 2010

Cool Products At Dreamforce 2010

The nearly 25,000 attendees at the Dreamforce 2010 conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco can expect CEO Marc Benioff's two-hour keynote speech, a speech by former U.S. President Bill Clinton, and a concert with Stevie Wonder.

But there also will be more than 250 companies exhibiting at the conference, which is rapidly turning into a major cloud-computing event. We've put together a list of a dozen new products and technologies being shown by companies in the Salesforce ecosystem that we think deserve particular attention. Check them out.

Aria Systems

Aria Systems, a developer of billing and subscription management applications will be demonstrating enhanced integration between its software and Salesforce.com's CRM application to support more sophisticated subscription models. Aria Systems is in booth #1113.

The new capabilities, slated for availability later in December, will help automate business-to-business and business-to-consumer billing systems. Topping the list of enhancements is support for "parent-child" billing models, such as in households with multiple phone subscribers under a single family or household plan, or for tracking billing across multiple departments or business units within a parent corporation.

Cameleon Software

Cameleon Software, a developer of product design, sales configuration, quotes and proposals software, will be demonstrating a new version of its Cameloncloud CPQ for Salesforce application for the Apple iPhone and iPad. Cameleon Software is in booth #807.

CameleonCloud CPQ for Salesforce helps sales representatives automate sales quotation and proposal processes and save information in the Salesforce system. Making the software available on the iPhone and iPad will bring the application to field sales representatives who use those devices.

The application is available now for testing through the Salesforce AppExchange 2 and will be generally available in summer 2011.

CA Technologies

CA Technologies will be demonstrating its CA Identity Manager software that organizations can now use to manage identities for applications deployed on Salesforce.com's Force.com platform. CA will be at booth #619.

CA Identity Manager automates such identity management functions as role-based user provisioning and de-provisioning and self-service access requests. The software provides a single tool for carrying out those tasks for both cloud and on-premise applications, as shown in the diagram at left.

CloudApps

CloudApps, a developer of sustainability and energy efficiency applications, will be demonstrating its Force.com-based software integrated with the Salesforce Chatter collaboration system. The CloudApps applications help businesses reduce their energy, water and waste disposal costs.

Linking CloudApps with Chatter enables stakeholders across a company to monitor an organization's sustainability efforts, including providing real-time updates about sustainability projects. Using Chatter, for example, employees can collaborate on meeting waste-reduction targets in the same way friends follow each other's activities on a social media Website.

Demandbase

Demandbase, a developer of marketing performance improvement software, will be showing its Real-Time Identification Service, which is now capable of identifying more than 1 billion business IP addresses covering 75 percent of all business Web traffic.

The Demandbase system and its alerting capability enables business-to-business marketers to personalize Web marketing efforts to businesses in North America and Europe.

Information Builders iWay Software

Information Builders' iWay Software business unit will be demonstrating an upgrade of its iWay CEP Enable software that helps businesses integrate the Salesforce Chatter social collaboration platform with other IT systems.

The iWay CEP Enable technology extends the benefits of Chatter to such systems as SAP, Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards applications. A CEO, for example, could link Chatter to an SAP application to automatically detect purchase orders over a certain dollar-amount and push them to the executive's Chatter page in real time for review.

The new iWay CEP Enable release also supports new features in Salesforce Chatter 2.

Jitterbit

Jitterbit will be demonstrating its recently announced Jitterbit CloudReplicate for Salesforce software, a turnkey system that provides real-time synchronization of Saleforce data to Amazon EC2 for retention, backup, retrieval and advanced real-time reporting.

The system lets businesses mirror Salesforce to a central data warehouse in the cloud based on Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL databases.

RelayWare

RelayWare will be demonstrating the latest release of its namesake partner relationship management application with new security updates for privacy and access control, increased functionality for automating market development fund approval, and expanded communications capabilities for the RelayWare Sales Opportunity module.

RelayWare also will be demonstrating the RelayWare Salesforce.com Integration Connector, an off-the-shelf interface that provides communications between Saleforce's CRM application and RelayWare's PRM software.

ServiceMax

ServiceMax, a developer of cloud-based collaborative field service applications, will be showing its recently debuted ServiceMax for iPad software. ServiceMax is in booth #327.

ServiceMax's application is built on Salesforce's Force.com cloud development platform. The application provides field service technicians with access to everything from customer and route information, to product manuals, parts information and warranty data. The application also combines that information with Salesforce data to improve customer service and creating upsell opportunities.

TreeHouse Interactive

TreeHouse Interactive, a developer of Software-as-a-Service partner relationship management applications, will be demonstrating new features in its Marketing View demand generation and marketing automation software. Treehouse will be in booth #1206.

The new Reveal Web Analytics tool in Marketing View provides Web tracking and targeting functionality to help track Website visitor behavior, creating new insights about online prospects. Marketing View also now enables companies to share or create forms for posting on Facebook.

Xactly

Xactly will be announcing Xactly Incent 6.5, the latest release of the company's SaaS-based sales compensation management application. Integrated with the Salesforce CRM application, the software helps sales executives and administrators automate, manage and pay sales commissions and use compensation as a management tool.

The new release offers new features that reduce the time needed to administer sales commissions, and improves the user experience for executives who manage large sales organizations.

Zuora

Zuora will be unveiling Z-Force 4.0, a major update to its line of Force.com-native subscription billing and commerce applications. Zuora's software links Salesforce's SalesCloud 2 and ServiceCloud2 front-office applications with what it calls "middle office" tasks such as setting prices, creating quotes and initiating subscription renewals. Zuora is in booth #819.

The Z-Force 4.0 suite includes Z-Force Pricing, Z-Force Quotes, Z-Force Order Builder, Z-Force Renewals, Z-Force 360 (seen at left) and Z-Force Checkout for AppExchange.
