Asigra Unveils Cloud Backup Certification For Partners

Asigra, a Toronto, Canada-based provider of cloud backup, recovery and restore software, announced its Cloud Backup Technical Certification Program, offering a tiered cloud backup certification.

Available through Asigra Training Services, the certification program covers the Asigra Cloud Backup product suite. The program will provide a validated and certified level of technical competency. The program was unveiled at the 2012 Asigra Cloud Backup Partner Summit in Toronto, Canada.

Zyrion To Support Citrix CloudStack With Cloud Monitoring

Zyrion, a provider of cloud and IT monitoring software, said it will support the Citrix CloudStack platform in its Traverse monitoring product.

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Citrix’s CloudStack is a free and open-source cloud infrastructure management platform to help deploy and manage hybrid cloud environments.

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Zyrion's monitoring solution currently supports most virtual and cloud technologies associated with VMware, Xen, HyperV, Cloudstack and Amazon Web Services.

Caringo Ramps Up Cloud Storage

Austin, Texas-based storage vendor Caringo unveiled three cloud storage products: Elastic Content Protection, CloudScaler and Indexer, which runs on its Object Storage Platform.

Caringo said the stack of appliances work together to provide cloud storage for private or public clouds.

By providing the entire stack, Caringo can ensure high performance, simple management and interoperability between all cloud components, and reduce the complexity associated with open-source or hybrid cloud. The Caringo software stack can be deployed on any storage hardware.

Virtustream Lets Customers Manage Hybrid Clouds

Enterprise cloud solutions provider Virtustream released xStream 2.0, which lets customers manage hybrid clouds by allowing them to select components for on-site private clouds, combined with off-site public and virtual private clouds.

xStream 2.0 is available as software, as a stand-alone appliance and as a managed service. xStream provides multi-layered logical and physical cloud security as well as in-depth threat monitoring and includes silicon-level authentication with Intel TxT, to meet security and compliance standards.

Washington, D.C.-based Virtustream has raised $75 million in total funding.

Sanbolic AppCluster Supports Public Clouds

Boston, Mass.-based Sanbolic, a data management software vendor, said its Sanbolic AppCluster will support public clouds.

Sanbolic AppCluster, a Microsoft SQL Server-related module within its Melio data management platform, extends SQL Server workloads across physical, virtualized and, now, both private and public cloud environments, with AppCluster support.

With public cloud support, users will be able to minimize the cost and complexity of managing SQL Server clusters while extending the economics of public cloud to server and information platforms. Delivered via public cloud providers, Sanbolic AppCluster allows clustered SQL Server users to move this area of their IT infrastructure into the public cloud to lower both costs and management burden, as well as ensure availability and on-demand scalability.
