As IBM seeks to advance past legacy security approaches, the company announced new cloud and hybrid cloud security services that offer expanded opportunities for partners.
More Cloud-Native Security Options
New IBM advisory and managed security services for cloud-native controls across AWS, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure and other clouds can help customers reduce the risk of cloud misconfigurations, IBM said. The new services also come with additional insights about risks and threats, according to the company. IBM said that its specialists can help design and implement security practices based on business and regulatory needs with ongoing monitoring and reporting on configurations used companywide.
A recent example of IBM leveraging partnerships with rival cloud vendors to expand its security services across other clouds was its December announcement of new technology initiatives with AWS. The partnership includes new IBM Security support for a number of AWS-native security services including AWS Network Firewall, AWS CloudTrail, Amazon Inspector, Amazon Detective and Amazon GuardDuty. As part of the arrangement, AWS and hybrid cloud environments receive visibility and insights from QRadar. IBM’s Cloud Pak for Security also gained native for AWS services to simplify and accelerate threat detection across AWS and hybrid environments.
