In a letter to investors highlighting some of the biggest opportunities ahead, the IBM CEO pointed to Red Hat OpenShift, reimagined workflows with AI and working with partners to drive consumption.

Marketing With Industry Clouds

IBM has launched two industry cloud offerings so far, which are “designed to tackle the specific needs of mission-critical and highly regulated industries,” Krishna wrote in the letter to investors.

IBM’s Cloud for Financial Services offering added key partners in 2020, Krishna wrote--including Adobe, Infosys Finacle and Persistent System. Meanwhile, IBM’s Cloud for Telecommunications launched last year and now counts more than 35 partners--including Samsung, Verizon and Vodafone Idea.

IBM isn’t the only vendor with the idea of marketing suites of cloud products and services to specific verticals. Microsoft has launched industry cloud offerings for businesses in financial services, manufacturing and other verticals, as has Google.
