Google CEO Sundar Pichai: 10 Boldest Statements From Next ‘21

New Google Cloud tools aimed at energy and cost efficiency, new cybersecurity tools and new partnerships were among the key points from Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s keynote during the company’s annual Google Cloud Next conference for partners and customers.

Like last year, Google Cloud Next is virtual due to the global pandemic. It runs from Tuesday to Thursday.

“The pandemic has sped up digitization in all aspects of our lives,” Pichai said in his keynote. “It‘s changed how we visit a doctor, how our kids learn in school, and how we connect with one another. And it’s made the future of work our present, giving us a renewed opportunity to transform our organizations.”

Among the tools Pichai talked about are the BigQuery Omni tool aimed at helping users build cross-cloud analytics and the Work Safer program to protect organizations from cybersecurity threats through offers that combine Workspace with other Google products and services and solutions from partners CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks.

He also highlighted recently expanded partnerships with the likes of carmaker Ford and cosmetics company L’Oreal.
