Google Cloud Platform vs. AWS is a relatively new quandary for business users. While both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud platform (GCP) have been popular in the consumer space for some time, the cloud platforms, especially Google, have only more recently become enterprise-ready public cloud offerings.

AWS remains the global market share leader at 33 percent as GCP nabs 6 percent of public cloud market share, according to Synergy Research Group's 2018 findings. But as more businesses come to rely on public and hybrid cloud options, solution providers need to be armed with knowledge about the main players to help their customers make the right decision.
