IBM Worldwide Ecosystems Chief Bob Lord’s 7 Boldest Statements On IBM’s Red Hat OpenShift Sales Charge

Steven Burke

New IBM Senior Vice President of Worldwide Ecosystems and Blockchain Bob Lord says the company is upping its partner game as it sharpens its focus on Red Hat OpenShift as the standard for hybrid cloud and AI.

How You Start And Grow With IBM

The challenge that is upon us right now is how do you start it and how do you grow it. You are going to find me in markets being very specific about what we need to accomplish in a certain market with the VARs and the VADs, where our focus is with the strategy, who are the guys that are leaning in? We are going to put more energy there.

Who are the top 10 GSIs we are going to go after? Who are we going to focus on? In the financial services cloud, who are the ISVs I need to make sure get on-boarded for that cloud and the telco cloud?

My team for this year—2021—is going to get very focused. We are not going to try to boil the ocean. I need to make progress in each one of these tracks, refine the program, and continue to refine the program.

There is a lot to do and then we scale it in the second half of 2021 and into 2022. The first half of the year I am getting my team focused on what we need to accomplish—how we on board ISVs and what we do there.
