Partners Are HPE ‘Family And We Need to Feed Our Family:’ HPE’s George Hope

What are your top priorities as worldwide channel chief for fiscal year 2021?

First off all, it’s awesome to get the job. Working for [former Worldwide Channel Chief] Paul [Hunter, pictured] the last three years [as vice president of worldwide distribution] has been a great experience for me. I have learned a lot from him. A lot of it is about continuity of some of the existing programs. I have been part of the evolution of the channel for the last three years.

I have been focused on distribution and now need to look into some other things that I haven’t been focusing on over the last couple of years. The first thing I am going to do is meet the team and start figuring out where I can have an impact.

I think I got the job because of my experience and now I want to leverage that experience to transform [the channel] to what the new HPE looks like.

Hope said he was ecstatic when he got the call from his new boss, HPE Worldwide Chief Sales Officer Heiko Meyer, that he had gotten the job.

“I tried to keep as cool as I could but I threw my arms in the air and said, ‘Yes!,’” exclaimed Hope. “I was thrilled. I can’t say enough about how great it feels and how much I want to have an impact. … I am very humbled to be chosen and I am looking forward to getting started.”
