Hard Skill No. 3: Analytical reasoning

LinkedIn's research found that demand for skills around data-driven decision-making is on the rise. Analytical reasoning, for instance, rose one spot in this year's list of most sought-after hard skills. With data collection and analysis continuing to expand at a rapid pace, companies need employees with the ability to interpret the data--and take action on it--to increase their growth, LinkedIn said.

Hard Skill No. 4: Artificial Intelligence

While artificial intelligence continues to be a major focus, there's a bit less of an emphasis than last year with AI skills dropping two spots on LinkedIn's hard skills list. Still, the market for AI software worldwide is forecast to grow from $10.1 billion in revenue in 2018 to $126 billion by 2025, according to research firm Tractica. Employees with skills in AI, machine learning and natural language processing can help deliver innovative products and services that offer greater relevance and personalization, LinkedIn says.
