The Top 10 Highest-Rated Tech Companies For Best Compensation 2020
All five so-called FAANG companies – Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix and Google/Alphabet – ranked in the top 10 of Comparably’s list for the first time.
Google and Facebook took top honors in Comparably’s 2020 ranking of the top highest-rated large companies for best compensation for the third straight year.
After ranking fourth last year, Microsoft returned to the third spot on the list, which is based on sentiment ratings provided by each company’s employees on how satisfied they are with all aspects of their compensation, including fair pay, raises, annual bonuses, benefits, and if applicable, stock and/or equity in their companies. The employees’ anonymous feedback was recorded on Comparably.com from Sept. 27, 2019 through Sept. 27, 2020, according to the workplace culture and compensation monitoring company.
Eighty-four percent of the responding employees from large companies – those with more than 500 employees -- believed they were paid fairly, compared to 92 percent from small and mid-sized companies.
All five so-called FAANG companies – Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix and Google/Alphabet made the top 10 for the first time. Amazon, Apple and Netflix made the cut after ranking 11th, 12th and 29th last year, respectively.
Here’s a look at the top 10 large companies – all of them technology-related businesses -- that made Comparably’s list. For “fairness and statistical significance,” Comparably said additional weight was given to companies that had more of their employee base providing answers.
