AMD said 2020 “marked an inflection journey” in its goal to become the industry’s high-performance computing leader as it set a new record for annual revenue and grew market share against Intel — all of which was reflected in the compensation packages for its top executives.

Lisa Su, AMD’s CEO, was the company’s most highly compensated executive in 2020 and earned more than double the second highest executive, Chief Sales Officer Darren Grasby, according to a proxy statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in late March.

While Intel’s shareholders recently voted to reject the rival’s 2020 executive compensation plan, AMD’s shareholders voted overwhelmingly in favor of the company’s pay practices for its top executives, according to a May filing with the SEC that reported the results of AMD’s annual stockholder meeting.
