The latest version of Palo Alto Networks' Traps "represents a milestone in endpoint protection" through features including static analysis, which provides an instant verdict on a never-before-seen file to declare it malicious or benign, said Bill Mertz, chief operating officer at Tulsa, Okla.-based Norlem. "Static analysis works whether the endpoint is online or offline, with no changes to its effectiveness," Mertz said. The new version of Traps also provides updated exploit prevention and assistance with fulfilling key compliance requirements, he said. "Traps is successfully stopping zero-day malware as well as zero-day exploits in the wild at our customers," Mertz said.
