Dell’s Earnings Report On Thursday

Dell Technologies, the $91 billion PC, storage, servers and hyperconverged infrastructure giant, will report its second fiscal quarter earnings on Thursday as the firm faces potential headwinds due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This month, Dell Technologies CEO and founder Michael Dell said the “new normal” created by COVID-19 will continue for much longer than initially believed, forcing businesses to implement long-term changes.

“We’re all done with coronavirus, but unfortunately the virus isn’t done with us,” wrote Dell in a recent letter to Dell Technologies employees. “This is going to be a marathon and it’s going to be uneven and frustrating at times. Some of our sites are opening —others are not. … We are all going to have to be incredibly flexible, agile and patient. Patient with each other and patient with ourselves and our families. And we are going to have to take a longer-term view of the new normal.”

Dell’s second quarter financial results will be reported at 5:30 p.m. ET on Aug. 27. Here are five things that Dell customers, investors and channel partners should know heading into Thursday’s earnings report.
