Here are the top five companies who lead the U.S. channel sales charge around UPS, PDU, surge protectors, rack mounts and chassis in the fourth quarter of 2019.

There are many power infrastructure suppliers across the world but only five vendors were dominant in sales during the fourth quarter of 2019, according to new data from Port Washington, N.Y.-based NPD Group.

The NPD Group, which tracks monthly technology sales out data from the largest distributors and resellers in the U.S., provided power infrastructure sales data for uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution units (PDU), surge protectors, rack mounts and chassis. Sales in this particular market reached $334 million in the fourth quarter, down 1 percent year over year.

5. Hewlett Packard Enterprise​

Dollar Share: 6.2%

HPE generated $20.7 million in UPS, PDU, surge protector, rack mounts and chassis revenue during the fourth quarter of 2019, down from $24.3 million in sales year over year. The San Jose, Calif.-based server and storage giant captured 6.2 percent dollar share of the market in the fourth quarter.

HPE’s 800W hot-plug power supply kit for its ProLiant DL300 Gen9 servers was the third most popular product sold during the quarter, according to NPD.

4. Eaton

Dollar Share: 7.6%

The power management and infrastructure specialist sold $25.4 million of power supplies during the fourth quarter, down slightly from $26.5 million in revenue compared to the same quarter one year ago. Ireland-based Eaton captured 7.6 percent dollar share of the market during the fourth quarter 2019, according to data from NPD.

This week, Eaton postponed its Partner Summit that was scheduled for March 16 due to concerns about coronavirus.

3. Tripp Lite

Dollar Share: 11.4%

Tripp Lite was the only company on NPD’s list to witness power sales increase in the fourth quarter with $37.9 million in revenue, up more than 6 percent year over year. The Chicago, Ill-based data center company grew its dollar share from 10.5 percent in fourth quarter 2018 to 11.4 percent.

Tripp Lite’s six outlet 790 Joules with six feet of cord was the second most popular power product sold in the fourth quarter, while its seven outlet 1440 Joules surge protector ranked No. 8.

2. Cisco

Dollar Share: 12.3%

The San Jose, Calif.-based worldwide networking leader generated $41.2 million in power sales in the fourth quarter, representing a decrease from the $43.6 million during the same quarter in 2018. Cisco captured 12.3 percent of the dollar share in the quarter, down from 12.9 percent year over year, according to NPD.

During Cisco’s recent second fiscal quarter earnings, the company’s revenue declined 4 percent to $12.01 billion compared to $12.45 billion year over year.

1. APC by Schneider Electric

Dollar Share: 38.9%

APC by Schneider Electric dominated the U.S. power market in the channel with a whopping $130 million in sales, representing flat growth year over year, to win nearly 39 percent of the market’s total dollar share.

APC’s BE600M1 Back-UPS with 600VA and 330W backup batter power was the most popular product sold during the fourth quarter, according to NPD. Four of the West Kingston, R.I.-based company’s products made the top 10 list in terms of most popular power products sold in the quarter which included APC’s Back-UPS with 650VA and 390W as well as its seven outlet 1440 Joules surge protector with a six-foot cord.
