Classical Machine Learning Will Still Be Important

Even as organizations accelerate adoption of advanced deep learning solutions, classical machine learning will still have an important role to play, according to Gartner. To illustrate that point, the research firm said more than three quarters of organizations through 2022 will use deep neural networks in cases where classical machine learning would have sufficed. This means that organizations should understand the different machine learning options available to them, keep things simple when possible and ensure that the chosen technique is appropriate for the problem at hand.
