Deals Aplenty For MSPs In 2014
This year saw a lot of wheeling and dealing for MSPs, with telecom companies getting a seat at the table and big-name retailers cashing out.
Birch Communications and MetTel are some of the first telcos to have a managed services practice with the acquisitions of Cbeyond and Thrive Networks, respectively. And just a few years after getting into the MSP game, Staples and Best Buy exited stage left, selling off Thrive and mindSHIFT, respectively.
Big-time players such as Ingram Micro and Kaseya got in on the managed services action as well, acquiring Rollouts and Scorpion Software, respectively. And more big news could be on the way, with CSC reportedly considering a leveraged buyout.
