The Legacy

Arnie Bellini, the founder and visionary creator who founded a tech company in 1982 that would years later transform the IT landscape with its managed service platform, has announced he is stepping down as CEO and taking on an advisory role with the company.

ConnectWise has been a leader in helping IT professionals start and run their own businesses giving them tools to build recurring revenue around the services they provide.

But even in the rapidly changing, and highly competitive world of IT, ConnectWise didn’t push rivals away. Instead, Bellini focused on forging IT Nation, a network of IT peers, thought leaders and experts who met under a truce banner at the company’s shows in Orlando, and around the world to exchange ideas and learn how to move technology forward.

Today, ConnectWise announced that the company has been purchased by private equity firm Thoma Bravo, which already owns rival Continuum. With the change in ownership, Bellini is stepping down as CEO and will stay with the company as an advisor. He talked to CRN about the sale, the transition and what is next for him.
