'Absolutely Not'

At Sabio Information Technologies in Doral, Fla., plenty of customers are eligible for Microsoft's free upgrade to Windows 10. But the Microsoft partner is planning to let the July 29 upgrade deadline come and go. "We're still not moving our customers to Windows 10, because there are still a few incompatibilities, and a learning curve,’ said CEO Mario Santiago. Yes, it's inevitable that users will have to move to Windows 10 from earlier versions of the operating system, such as the popular-with-business Windows 7. "But we're trying to prolong that as long as possible,’ Santiago told CRN.

Likewise, Joe Balsarotti, president of St. Peters, Mo.-based Software To Go, said that despite being a longtime Microsoft partner, he's "absolutely not’ recommending that customers upgrade to Windows 10. "I think Microsoft only looks at two ends of the spectrum -- the consumer space, which always wants the newest and greatest, and the enterprise space,’ Balsarotti told CRN. "The vast majority of business and professional people are in the middle. And I don't think Microsoft ever hears how they use [Windows]."
