The Latest From Dell's PC Lineup

After an already busy year of new PC launches from Dell in both its commercial and consumer lineups, the company is picking up the pace even further by unveiling a number of new devices at the IFA 2018 tech show in Berlin. The announcements include the re-introduction of Dell's PC lineup focused on small businesses, Vostro, as well as updates to the XPS 13 line and a first-ever premium Dell Chromebook.

In the following slides, we've rounded up the key details on Dell's latest PC launches.

Vostro 14 and 15

Five years after discontinuing its Vostro small business PC line in the U.S., Dell is bringing Vostro back in 2018. The company is unveiling two notebook models at IFA 2018 -- the Vostro 14 and 15. The 14-inch Vostro 14 and 15-inch Vostro 15 offer up to an eighth-gen Intel Core i7 processor (U series), up to 32 GB of RAM, USB-C connectivity, TPM 2.0 security and Windows Hello facial recognition. XPS 13 2-in-1

Dell debuted the first 2-in-1 model of its popular XPS 13 in early 2017, but the laptop hadn't seen an update since then. Dell is changing that at IFA 2018 with a processor refresh for the XPS 13 2-in-1. The convertible notebook will now feature eighth-gen Intel Core chips from the Y series. Intel's Y series processors offer improved power efficiency, and help to provide Dell's promised 15 hours of battery life for the notebook. The chassis for the XPS 13 2-in-1 will remain the same as in the original release, according to Dell.

The updated Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 will be available Sept. 11 with a starting price of $999.99.

XPS 13 with Core i3

In addition to the XPS 13 2-in-1 update, Dell announced that it will be offering the latest XPS 13 clamshell with an entry-level processor, the eighth-gen Intel Core i3. The Dell XPS 13 with Core i3 is available now with a starting price of $899.99.

Inspiron Chromebook 14 2-in-1

At IFA 2018, Dell is launching its first-ever "premium" Chromebook with the Inspiron Chromebook 14 2-in-1. The convertible Chrome OS notebook comes with an aluminum body that offers durability not found in most Chromebook, along with a number of other higher-end features—a 14-inch FHD display with 300 nits of brightness, up to 15 hours of battery life, an eighth-gen Intel Core i3 processor and up to 128 GB of storage. The 2-in-1 also features USB-C, a digital stylus and access to Android apps.

The Dell Inspiron Chromebook 14 2-in-1 will be available Oct. 23 with a starting price of $599.

Dell 27 USB-C Ultrathin Monitor

Dell contends that its new 27-inch monitor is the "world's brightest 27-inch USB-C ultrathin monitor in its class," with up to 600 nits of brightness and a thickness of 0.22 of an inch for the display. The monitor features resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 and a minimal bezel around the screen, as well as connectivity to USB-C, USB-A and HDMI.

The Dell 27 USB-C Ultrathin Monitor will be available Sept. 20 with a starting price of $549.99.
