Huawei Mate X

Just days after Samsung introduced its first foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold, Huawei debuted its foldable Mate X at MWC 2019. The Mate X differs significantly from the Galaxy Fold, however, with a 6.6-inch display when closed (compared to 4.6 inches on the Galaxy Fold) and an 8-inch "tablet" display when opened (compared to 7.3 inches on the Galaxy Fold). The Mate X is also 35-percent thinner when closed than the Galaxy Fold, at 0.43 inches, and will support 5G, as well. The Huawei Mate X has a higher price tag at about $2,600, compared to $1,980 for the Galaxy Fold. The Mate X is scheduled to be available in mid-2019.
