Battery Life & Charging

While the iPhone XS Max is the larger phone in our comparison, it actually has a much smaller battery with a reported size of 3,174mAh. By contrast, the Galaxy S9+ includes a 3,500mAh battery. That translates to 15 hours of usage on a charge over WiFi, compared to 13 hours of internet use on a charge for the iPhone XS Max.

Both the Galaxy S9+ and iPhone XS Max feature wireless-charging capabilities, with the devices chargeable by placing them on a Qi charging pad (sold separately).
