If you don't have your heart set on an iPhone--and are looking to save some money--Samsung's Galaxy S9+ may come out the winner in this comparison, thanks to its significantly lower starting price of $739.99. By comparison, Apple's iPhone XS Max starts at $1,099. Of course, that price for the iPhone XS Max will get you a larger display--and potentially faster performance and a better camera--than on the Galaxy S9+. But the S9+ has plenty going for it, too--such as its longer battery life, true edge-to-edge display design (no camera notch needed) and, yes, its inclusion of a standard headphone jack.
