8. T-Mobile Gets The iPhone

Apple-loving T-Mobile customers rejoiced this year when the U.S. carrier finally added the iPhone to its lineup.

Apple devices in March officially became part of the T-Mobile family, after the two companies struck an agreement in December 2012. The move put an end to T-Mobile being the only carrier out of the top four in the U.S. -- including itself, Sprint, AT&T and Verizon -- that didn't carry the coveted iPhone.

Also in March, T-Mobile unveiled a new pricing strategy, called the Simple Choice Plan, which lets users pay on a month-to-month basis rather than being locked into the usual annual or two-year contract.
