As VeloCloud sees it, the benefits of cloud and virtualization shouldn't be confined to the data center. That's why the Los Altos, Calif.-based startup, which came out of stealth in July, developed its WAN-as-a-Service, a new offering that delivers enterprise branch infrastructure via the cloud.

According to VeloCloud, its cloud-based WAN eliminates the need for organizations to deploy traditional hardware-based appliances, while allowing them to pay for their enterprise branch infrastructure as a monthly subscription.

What's more, the company is selling its service 100 percent through the channel as part of its new VeloCloud Partner Program launched in September.
