Meyercord On The Record

After ascending to the No. 3 position in the networking market through a strategy of acquisitions and focused execution, Extreme Networks is now a formidable competitor to the two largest players in the massive market, according to Extreme CEO Ed Meyercord. Those competitors, Cisco and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, are too distracted by non-networking endeavors and are taking their "eye off the ball," Meyercord told CRN in an interview during Extreme's 2017 Global Partner Summit in Orlando, Fla. Now, as Extreme brings together networking technology acquired from Avaya, Brocade and Zebra into a broad product portfolio, the company is poised to offer massive opportunities to partners in the enterprise networking market, Meyercord said.

What follows is an excerpt of CRN's interview with Meyercord.
