All About Access
Cisco has been a leader in the collaboration space with its highly sought-after Cisco Webex platform for the last several years. The tech giant hasn’t just stopped at lag-free meetings and virtual events, however. Cisco is on a mission to level the playing field for all employees and make virtual collaboration 10 times better than in-person experiences.
To that end, Cisco is tackling accessible design. The company recently made several platform updates with new features and functionality that will continue to enhance user experiences, while addressing inclusivity, usability, and accessibility. Cisco wants users to be able to customize and personalize the Webex platform to suit their own unique needs, according to Javed Khan, senior vice president and general manager of Cisco’s Collaboration business. In a blog post published Tuesday, Khan said that 15 percent of the global population – more than a billion people – live with a form of disability.
“To meet the needs of such a diverse range of people, a more inclusive approach is needed. An accessibility issue that excludes one person is often a pain point for others, so designing for those who do not have perfect vision, hearing, cognition, or mobility improves the experience for all,” Khan said.
With accessibility and personalization in mind, here are five new Cisco Webex updates and enhancements that solution providers should know about.
