Strong Performer: Juniper Networks
Juniper Networks in March unveiled its intent to buy AI-powered networking startup Mist Systems, a company founded by former Cisco executives, for $405 million. The deal has helped expand Juniper’s presence in the rapidly growing cloud-managed segment of the wireless networking market, according to the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company.
Juniper's Mist offering today is strong in its location capabilities. Its location-based services can be rolled out easily using access points and management software in conjunction with Juniper's virtual beacon technology, the report found, noting that the offering is a good fit for companies needing easy-to-use indoor location services.
“Juniper’s Mist offering has set the standard in rolling out location services in an easy way by using just APs [access points] and management software with Juniper’s virtual beacon technology,” the report stated.
Juniper still needs to enhance the offering’s Bluetooth capabilities beyond beaconing to better manage IoT devices, according to the report.
