Methodology

This year, Gartner is only including UCaaS platform vendors that develop their own proprietary UCaaS application stack. The UCaaS provider must have designed and built the UCaaS platform and must upgrade, support and operate it from either its own data center or via a partner's data center. The UCaaS platform provider can either sell services directly or sell through channel partners.

Vendors considered must have a UCaaS product that offers VoIP, audio, videoconferencing and web conferencing, IM/presence and mobility. These features must be either included in the single stack or through an integrated partner. For consideration in the Magic Quadrant, the UCaaS offering must be commercially offered in at least two regions among North America, EMEA, Asia-Pacific and Latin America, which includes Mexico.
