Leader: Cisco Systems

A longtime leader in the UCaaS space, the report evaluated Cisco's Webex Meetings and Webex Teams messaging stack, which includes Webex Calling and Webex Contact Center.

Cisco in June said it is unifying its on-premises and cloud-based collaboration portfolio so that users can enjoy a consistent experience. The San Jose, Calif.-based tech giant also said it is working on third-party integrations and that its offerings now integrate with Google Cloud, iOS, Microsoft and Slack.

Strengths: Webex Meetings has been injected with artificial intelligence, natural language processing, facial recognition and hardware device integration. The Cisco UCaaS portfolio is complemented by Cisco's Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, security, LANs, routers and data center offerings, and Cisco's "deep bench" of partners are commited to Cisco's UCaaS portfolio.

Weaknesses: Webex Calling channel partners still have a limited understanding of the product's road map. Right now, Cisco UCaaS doesn't have a single, integrated client for calling, meetings and team collaboration, but a client is expected to be released in the third quarter.
