‘Customers are transitioning off a very old technology into a very new technology that offers them a tremendous benefit. It's easy for me to call it the product of the century and it’s the golden age of opportunity for UCaaS,’ RingCentral channel leader Zane Long tells CRN.

Moving Up The Food Chain

RingCentral has been growing by leaps and bounds.

The unified communications as a service (UCaaS) specialist saw its enterprise business increase 88 percent year-over year, driven largely by partners. At the same time, channel business increased 25 percent during its most recent fiscal period, Q2, according to Zane Long, senior vice president of global channel sales for RingCentral. To put a cherry on top, the Belmont, Calif.-based company was also named a leader once again in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for UCaaS Worldwide alongside unified communications industry heavyweights Cisco, Microsoft, and 8x8.

Long spoke with CRN about RingCentral's new Preferred Partner Program, the firm's recent enterprise wins and how its growing channel – 500 new partners added during its most recent quarter – are helping the company sell a product that Long is calling "the product of the century." What follows are excerpts from the conversation.
