The States With The Highest Gender Pay Gap In Tech

The gender pay gap in tech existed in nearly every state in 2019, with two states paying women $15,000 less than men for the same work last year. Here are 20 states that had that largest pay gaps last year, according to a recent survey.

2. Alabama

The first state alphabetically has the second-highest pay differential, with women in tech being paid on average $16,660 less than their male counterparts.

In a move that will hopefully close the gap, Alabama in June 2019 passed its first Equal Pay Act that prohibits an employer from paying an employee less than another employee of a different race or sex for equal work.
