The founders of this startup hail from Cisco and Microsoft and promise to offer easy access control. Avenda's identity-based multifunction platform delivers employee, guest and endpoint access management for multivendor wired, wireless and VPN networks. Its eTips product can be utilized with any networking equipment, identity store or network access method.

Data security is paramount and this startup offers a secure Network Storage Appliance for VMware, Citrix and Microsoft Windows virtualized environments and clustered servers. Using hardware key security, it allows IT to securely store, share and use digital assets and documents for a host of compliance and business-critical tasks.

One of the most troublesome security problems is managing privileged users and who has access to critical information. Palo Alto Networks

Founded by security visionary Nir Zuk, former CTO of NetScreen, Palo Alto Networks aims to reinvent the firewall.
