No Freedom From Fear

The cybersecurity industry enters 2019 still reeling from the Marriott International data breach that affected 500 million guests and the indictment of two Chinese nationals for targeting MSPs to steal their clients' intellectual property.

As vendors and solution providers gear up to address emerging threats, they will also need to help customers put precautions in place to defend against insider threats, attempts at social engineering, and the use of company resources for cryptomining.

With end users in healthcare and financial services dealing with more highly-targeted attacks, many will at last focus on the threat posed by uncertified third-parties being able to access their critical infrastructure and systems. Others will instead focus on both the opportunities and challenges presented by the move away from traditional passwords and toward other forms of authentication like biometrics.
