Dell EMC Global Channel Chief John Byrne, the fiercely competitive sales veteran responsible for combining the Dell EMC channel programs, spoke with CRN about the launch of the new unified program including compensation, the zero tolerance policy for Dell reps that violate deal registration.
The Scottish-born 27-year sales veteran has overseen a massive effort to combine the enterprise based EMC program and the more client-server based Dell program into the new single unified program that launches today.
The program comes just five months after the close of the largest acquisition in IT history - Dell's landmark $58 billion acquisition of storage market leader EMC last September.
Partners said the new Dell EMC profit-packed partner program puts the $74 billion behemoth into the same heavyweight class as channel stalwarts Cisco and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
