IT executives at midmarket organizations rely on the channel to help them meet their enterprise tech needs.

Gartner research director Mike Cisek pointed out specific ways that solution providers offer midmarket companies value while speaking at the Midsize Enterprise Summit in San Antonio, Texas last week. He highlighted security, hybrid infrastructure and as-a-service offerings as potential areas of midmarket investment.

The MES event also featured a diverse product and solution showcase by vendors and their partners targeted at these midsize businesses. CRN singled out 11 products of potential interest to the channel, ranging from hyper-converged infrastructure to analytics and network management solutions.

Scale Computing

Product: HC3

Scale offers a hyper-converged infrastructure solution that combines virtualization, servers, storage and backup/disaster recovery in one system, which includes built-in broser based management, thin storage provisioning, non-disruptive software updating and continuous replication. The solution also features a hypervisor without any licensing fees or other additional costs. Scale sells five different models of HC3 virtualization infrastructure, starting at $7,799 per node for the HC1100, and touts its simplicity, scalability and low total cost of ownership.

IBM

Product: Cognos Analytics

IBM's business intelligence (BI) solution is built on the premise of expedient self-service, including built-in intelligence that enables fast custom dashboard and report creation and, for IT professionals, a simplified, web-based administration that can be done on premises or in the cloud. Cognos supports add-ons for data discovery, predictive analysis, in-memory data and integration with IBM Watson Analytics for businesses with advanced BI needs.

IBM partner Locus Solutions leveraged Cognos to create a customized solution that allows for effective data visualization through maps, bubble charts and other formats.

Ziften

Product: Zenith

Ziften provides a unified systems and security operations platform that offers single-agent visibility and control for client devices, servers and cloud VMs – whether they are on-network or remote. The Zenith architecture, which includes various partner integrations that enhance system effectiveness, delivers endpoint monitoring and historical data collection to enterprises, government and MSSPs. The security offering also features continuous silent IT asset discovery.

Nutanix

Product: Lenovo HX 2000 Series powered by Nutanix Xpress

The Lenovo HX 2000 series of hyper-converged infrastructure, integrated with Nutanix's SMB-focused Xpress software, features a built-in Nutanix AHV hypervisor and VM management without virtualization licensing costs. The infrastructure stack can be integrated with public cloud platforms, such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, and includes single-vendor support from Lenovo. The HX 2000 Series includes 1U 1-node and 2U 4-node offerings.

Ruckus Wireless

Product: Cloud Wi-Fi

Ruckus has a Cloud Wi-Fi reseller promotion for U.S and Canadian solution providers running through Sept. 30. The offer gives businesses that purchase a qualified cloud-supported Ruckus Access Point a free one-year subscription to the vendor's WLAN solution. Target customers, according to Ruckus, are multi-site businesses with 200-plus users that require a high-quality wireless service. Cloud Wi-Fi enables remote management, utilizes a web GUI and supports VLANs. Ruckus has 13 different indoor access point offerings in its product arsenal, such as the R310 and R510 pictured above.

Informatica

Product: Integration Cloud

Informatica's integration platform-as-a-service spins up scalable data warehouse projects, synchronizing, connecting, importing, exporting and relating data between on-prem and cloud systems and applications. SaaS administrators can build real-time integration workflows from scratch or modifying existing ones through a wizard-based user interface. The platform includes out-of-the-box integration capabilities for Salesforce, NetSuite, Amazon Redshift, Microsoft Azure, Marketo, SAP, Oracle and SQL Server, among other apps, and is built on Informatica's unified metadata intelligence CLAIRE engine.

Aerohive

Aerohive's suite of network management solutions, built on the vendor's Cloud Services Platform, provides mobility-focused unified networking for enterprises that features configuration workflows, RF planner tools, API integrations and real-time client and event monitoring. MSPs and large organizations can manage multi-tenant environments through a 360-degree dashboard that tracks network assets, health status, user activity and data usage. Aerohive hosts its Cloud Services Platform, which features with scheduled backups and disaster recovery capabilities, in secure Tier IV SAS 70 Type II data centers.

iland

Product: Secure DRaaS with Zerto

Powered by Zerto's disaster recovery and virtual data replication software, iland's specialized cloud-based disaster recovery as a service solution replicates VMs at the hypervisor level from data centers to the company's cloud platform. The solution features built-in cloud security and compliance, legacy system support, self-service testing and a failover alert and reporting function that helps companies ensure their recovery plans are disaster-ready.

KMC Controls

Product: KMC Commander

The New Paris, Ind.-based KMC Controls provides IoT and automation platforms to systems integrators, OEM partners and IT providers. The Commander platform, released in partnership with Intel and Dell's IoT Alliances, helps enterprises maximize their energy efficiency by collecting data through on-premise gateways and then tracking and analyzing its trends. ClearPass also features integrations with third-party firewalls, MDM/EMM, MFA, visitor registration and SIEM tools.

ShoreTel

ShoreTel's unified communications as a service (UCaaS) offering allows businesses to set up a monthly subscription with the cloud VoIP provider, which manages and maintains the system and services. Connect Cloud features built-in, easily-accessible collaboration tools that include a contact timeline, an event wizard, agenda time trackers, visual audio monitoring and integration with Outlook and ICS calendars.
