Solving For Performance, Capacity, Flexibility, All Of The Above

The recent crop of storage startups are not looking to offer me-too products. Instead, they are tackling some of the storage industry's toughest problems, and doing it in unique ways. In-server memory? Check. Containerized storage? Check. Cloud-native storage services? Check. High-performance search across platforms? Check.

An interesting point about many of today's storage startups is the uniqueness of many of their offerings. Unique as in few if any of the larger established vendors have tackled the problems they are addressing. However, the way these startups address those problems is by point solutions. And point solutions are often frowned upon by business customers who prefer to work with--and manage--a smaller number of vendors. Here's a look at eight storage startups that have recently started bringing their products to a market eager for new ways to tackle storage issues.
