Product Pricing, Availability Now Available On Demand

ChannelWeb has teamed with VARStreet to offer an information service for ChannelWeb users that provides real-tim product pricing and availablity.

The VARStreet=powered service offers ChannelWeb users real-time product catalogs, product availability and product pricing free of charge.

The new service gives insight into live product availability, VAR-specific pricing from distributors and e-tailers and product details. Click here to get started.

Here is a screen capture of a search for the Seagate Maxtor Shared Storage II Network Hard Drive in a 1 TB USB configuration. The screen lists which distributors have it in stock and which sites have it available, along with the price.

Using the new service, ChannelWeb users can compare stock and pricing from various distributors. Pictured here is the availability of the Seagate Maxtor Shared Storage II Network Hard Drive in a 1 TB USB configuration at Ingram Micro and Synnex, broken down by location. The price difference is also offered. Apparently, Synnex has an ample supply in North Las Vegas, while Ingram Micro is fresh out.

To receive specific preferred pricing information partners can enter their account numbers with distributors, along with their username and password.

Along with offering insight into availability and pricing, the service offers detailed product descriptions. This screen capture shows the description and availability of the Seagate FreeAgent Desktop Hard Drive. The right-hand columns also show how many of a specific item a distributor has on order and when those are expected to arrive.

Even products for the SMB or home office can be compared. Here we see a Linksys WCG200 Wireless Router. According to this listing, D&H offers a lower price, Synnex doesn't carry the specific product and Ingram Micro has a good number in stock in various locations.

Not necessarily thrilled by the wireless router you saw? Want to see what else is out there? Searching through the service can give you information on the vendor's other models, as well as models offered by competitors, and also lets users compare pricing. Here, Buy.com offers the best deal on the Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G wireless router.

Or, if a Linksys router isn't your thing, check out what others, like D-Link, have to offer.

The new ChannelWeb service offers the ability to search and access rich content information of specific products filtered by brands and vendors, categories and keywords. VARs can review technical specifications and compare products.

A search for wireless routers can also return this view, which compares various D-Link models and uses the green boxes below to indicate which disties offer them. On the right, VARs can click to get more information.

Views like this can save solution providers and other channel professionals valuable time by helping them avoid calling distributors only to find out a specific item is out of stock.

Want to compare notebooks? The service helps VARs compare the various makes and models, for example HP (pictured here).

VARs can navigate through integrated catalogs of major distributors for up-to-date, structured information on IT products.

Need more details? Click on a specific product to get more detailed information. Like in this screen capture, ChannelWeb users can check out product specs on this Viewsonic monitor.

In addition to checking distributor pricing, you also can compare prices from various e-tailers and online stores. For example, this screen shows that the best price is available at Buy.com, while Computers4Sure.com is highest, with a roughly $13 difference, which can add up when several monitors are needed.
