No company experienced a leadership shake-up at a higher magnitude in March than Microsoft, but there were several other big personnel changes in the channel, including the departure of Dell Technologies' chief marketing officer and Insight's hiring of a Microsoft veteran.

Nicolas Chaillan

Qualys, a Foster City, Calif.-based cloud security vendor, hired Chaillan as federal chief technology officer to lead the company's government IT initiatives.

Previously, Chaillan was special advisory for cybersecurity and chief architect at the Department of Homeland Security, where "he designed the new robust, innovative and holistic .Gov cybersecurity architecture that mitigates cyber threats," the company said.

Chaillan has founded 12 companies, including After-Mouse.com and anyGuest.com. He has also been a significant contributor to the scripting language PHP since 2002.
