The world’s insatiable consumption of digital content is ever-growing. Together, the AMD AM5 platform and the Supermicro MicroCloud server provide optimal performance to allow users to play more, host more and create more, faster.

The world’s insatiable consumption of digital content is driving the Global Digital Content Creation Market size to grow at a 13.2 percent compound annual growth rate to reach an anticipated $50.2 billion by 2028. Together, the AMD AM5 platform and the Supermicro MicroCloud server provide optimal performance to allow users to play more, host more and create more, faster. “This is the first time AMD has officially introduced the Ryzen server platform into the [entry-level] market. So, we call it the Ryzen server for today,” says Penny Tseng, senior product manager at AMD.

The successor to the AMD AM4 platform, the new AMD Socket AM5 motherboard speeds up performance and improves CDN capabilities like never before thanks to AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Processors—which are housed in Supermicro MicroCloud modular servers, allowing users to save 76 percent of rack space compared to traditional servers. “Some of the top reasons customers use Supermicro’s MicroCloud include its space-saving design, low power consumption, best price per node,” says Cedric Wu, product manager of MicroCloud System at Supermicro. “The solution is also optimized for web hosting, dedicated hosting, online game hosting, CDN, at a very competitive price.”

This AMD AM5 and Supermicro MicroCloud combination also provides a right-sized entry level server platform for small to mid-sized businesses that are looking for powerful compute in a compact design at an affordable price point—unlocking new customer and business opportunities for channel partners. “We introduced the first DDR5 solution for the entry-level server market,“ says Tseng. “We also introduced a PCIe Gen5 for customers for future upgradability entry-value server as well.”

“The MicroCloud and the AM5 combination offers a high-performance scalability, flexibility and efficiency for demanding computing tasks,” says Wu.

In addition to providing the latest in performance enhancing technology, the AM5 platform is designed to still support AM4 architecture, but also grow for what’s next.
