ConnectWise Unveils Unified Platform Strategy To Accelerate Cybersecurity Growth For MSPs
At XChange Security in July 2025, Jason Short, vice president of product at ConnectWise, delivered a keynote underscoring both the urgency and opportunity in the managed cybersecurity space. With the market nearing $100 billion and growing 15 percent annually, Short emphasized that MSPs must evolve quickly or risk being left behind.
“This is as of 2024,” Short said. “We expect to cross that $100 billion mark this year.”
Drawing from a survey of more than 3,000 MSPs, Short outlined the top challenges facing providers today: operational efficiency, talent acquisition, tech stack optimization and building scalable cybersecurity practices. He warned that private equity activity is reshaping the landscape, urging MSPs to define their growth strategy or risk becoming part of someone else’s.
“You either really need to build your own growth strategy over the next 18 months,” he said, “or you will likely be the target of someone else’s.”
To support that growth, ConnectWise is doubling down on its Asio platform, a unified architecture designed to streamline operations across PSA, RMM and cybersecurity tools. Short announced the full launch of PSA in Asio, following a six-month early access period.
“A common data layer allows you to not have to sync things between tools,” he explained. “There’s one device record, one client record, one ticket record.”
In addition to customer acquisition and revenue growth, Walker addressed the importance of the platform. The platform also introduces a unified user experience and permission model, enabling technicians to manage multiple clients and tools from a single interface. Short highlighted how Asio’s integration allows for seamless ticketing and automation across Microsoft, AV and EDR tools.
“If you’re not doing security training with your clients, number one, it is a great revenue stream,” he said. “Number two, it’ll also help reduce your costs.”
Short concluded with a preview of ConnectWise’s rebuilt SIEM solution, now fully integrated into Asio. The new SIEM promises faster incident detection, fewer false positives and simplified data correlation, key capabilities for MSPs scaling their security offerings.
“This together is ConnectWise and Asio focusing on a single platform,” Short said, “bringing you new data streams around cybersecurity and data protection.”
