Empowering MSSPs: How AI Is Transforming Cybersecurity With Stellar Cyber And ESET

Artificial intelligence is no longer a buzzword. It is a game changer for managed security service providers (MSSPs) striving to stay ahead of evolving threats. Matt Anderson, senior director of enterprise sales at ESET, and Andrew Homer, vice president of global strategic alliances at Stellar Cyber, share how their companies are leveraging AI to deliver real outcomes for MSSPs and their customers.

“We built a platform that can leverage all of our features, including NextGen SIM, network detection, response identity, threat detection all from one single platform,” said Homer. Stellar Cyber’s AI native Open XDR platform uses what the company calls multi layered AI. This includes predictive analysis powered by deep learning to detect threats in real time and generative AI to simplify operations through natural language queries. “That makes it easier for our practitioners to use our platform. From an MSSP standpoint, they’re just looking for outcomes detect threats faster, stop breaches for their customers, and do it at a lower cost.”

For ESET, AI has been part of its DNA for decades. “We’re a research company first and foremost 30 years ago, and we still continue that legacy today,” Anderson explained. “We’ve been using machine learning and algorithms what you now call traditional AI and it’s morphed into a great opportunity for the marketplace. When you think of AI, it all comes down to the data how great is the data that you’re sourcing?”

Both executives emphasized that AI is helping MSSPs tackle one of the industry’s biggest pain points: alert fatigue. “Alert fatigue has always been an issue in our industry. What artificial intelligence in our platform is doing is finding those threats in real time, so practitioners don’t have to do it manually,” Homer said. By automating workflows and accelerating detection, Stellar Cyber and ESET aim to help MSSPs deliver better security outcomes at scale.

Looking ahead, Anderson warned that the attack surface is expanding rapidly. “You’re never going to be 100 percent secure. What you can do is take steps and build a defense in depth approach to mitigate as much risk as possible.”

For MSSPs, the message is clear: AI-driven platforms are no longer optional. They are essential for staying competitive and protecting customers in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
