How Schneider Electric Is Powering The Future Of AI
Artificial intelligence is reshaping IT infrastructure, driving unprecedented demand for power, cooling and resiliency. At Schneider Electric’s Innovation Summit, two company leaders shared how Schneider is responding with solutions designed for high-density environments and channel partners navigating this shift.
“APC, as you know, we started the UPS business about 40 plus years back. And very happy to see that even today we are No. 1 in the world in terms of our UPS sales,” said Himamshu Prasad, senior vice president of Transactional & Edge and EcoStruxure IT at Schneider Electric. “And we are very happy to announce that now we want to be the energy technology partner. And especially in the context of AI, where there is a significant need for electricity, we see that by being an energy technology partner, we can enable this deployment of AI.”
The surge in AI workloads has driven higher energy density and infrastructure complexity. Schneider Electric is addressing these challenges with ruggedized racks for heavier servers, high-amperage rack PDUs and advanced cooling systems. “Literally as we sit here, we can say that 12 months ago we couldn’t have sat here and said we’re really ready for AI,” said Adam Compton, category management director at Schneider Electric. “We not only decided to really lean into it and say we are going to be a leader in rack and rack Power Distribution where it really matters for AI, but we’re also going to innovate as we go through that.”
For partners, early engagement is critical. “When an AI use case is coming about, you have to start talking about the power then and how we’re going to thermally manage this,” Compton emphasized.
Schneider is also embedding AI into its own offerings. Prasad highlighted EcoStruxure IT, a monitoring and management platform now integrating AI for intelligent fault alerts and predictive insights. “We started integrating AI capability into the software now so that we can do intelligent fault alerts,” he said. “In the coming weeks, months, we’ll start adding more and more AI functionality into many, many aspects of the EcoStruxure IT software.”
Innovation is accelerating, and collaboration is critical. Schneider Electric is inviting channel partners to engage early and help customers build future-ready infrastructure.
